St. Mark Turkey Dinner Cancelled

After hearing from several people and talking with others, it has been decided that 2021 is not a good year to have the St Marks Turkey Dinner. Covid is on the rise here and around the country. It is impossible to know what the situation will be in February.  Next week is the week that $2000 worth of turkeys would need to be ordered and we have no idea if we would be able to have the dinner. Carving of 52 turkeys, preparing many roasters of dressing and potatoes, and working carry-out lines all require working together in close quarters for extended periods of time. As stated by Dr. Haverkamp, this would be a potential super spreader.
Therefore, it has been decided to cancel the turkey dinner for this year.As an alternative to the turkey dinner, a virtual fundraiser was suggested. It was also mentioned that if people would donate what they usually pay to purchase their tickets, that would be a good way to raise funds. If you have any ideas or would like to be involved in planning a fundraiser, please let Mary Quinlin know of your interest or ideas.  Thanks!
