Governor Reynolds has issued disaster declarations for 14 of the 30 in the Archdiocese of Dubuque, including Franklin, Hardin & Tama counties, making individual assistance grants and disaster case management services available to qualifying individuals who have been impacted. For those currently affected, they can contact Northeast Iowa Community Action (contact below) directly for application questions and case management services.
- Connect to local resources (shelters, FEMA grant funds, disaster case management, volunteer reception centers, local COAD’s (community organizations active in disaster)
- Coordinate volunteers to assist parishes and parishioners clean up after a disaster
- Provide on-site crisis counseling services, if needed.
- Assist parishes who have been impacted by disasters apply for short-term grant funding through Catholic Charities USA ($10,000 grants)
- Offer guidance and templates for parishes desiring to collect and distribute emergency financial assistance to impacted individuals
